Edison managed its drilling and completion project data in separate files and analysed it by hand. kwantis studied and developed a system that consolidates the data, makes the analyses easier and adds value to them.
The challenge
All drilling and completion project data were managed through independent files, and the analyses were not automated. The data had to be consolidated so that analyses would be easier and bring more value.
Our approach
To reduce the cost of the new data management system, kwantis proposed building it from the existing Excel planning and reporting templates, and adding:
- Consolidation of the information in a centralized database
- Risk-based planning
- Immediate reporting and analyses (business intelligence)
QlikView reports analyse all the information stored in the database dynamically and automatically.
The outcome
The reports consolidate lessons learned and support future time and cost estimates.
Using big data for operations analysis, an organization can gain real-time visibility into operations and reduce operating costs by anticipating and avoiding potential non-productive time (NPT).
