WIPO wanted to spread green technologies faster by bringing technology providers and innovation seekers together. kwantis analysed its green technologies database to find new ways to boost that matchmaking.
The challenge
The growing need for innovative answers to climate change has made environmentally sound technologies the cornerstone of the move from carbon-intensive economies to clean, energy-efficient systems. To help them spread, the client needed an in-depth analysis of its green technologies database.
Our approach
kwantis used a business intelligence tool, QlikView, to make the most of the database content and run a multidimensional analysis based on tailored technology rating criteria. The criteria screen each technology for:
- its position in the value chain;
- its level of market readiness;
- the type of innovation maker: academic institutions, government and quasi-government institutions, multinational companies, MSMEs, research centers and labs;
- its technology field;
- its target applications.
The outcome
Cross-combining the criteria produced a series of analyses that support specific matchmaking initiatives.
